Homewood, IL---At its Board of Directors Meeting, the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce elected Jim Bush of American Eagle Steel Company, LLC in South Holland as its Chairman for the upcoming year. Bush has been in the steel industry for over 38 years in various executive positions and for the last 13 years as the President and CEO of his own steel distribution business now located in South Holland. Bush’s tenure at the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce has been long and impressive. He has served as Vice-Chair of Government Affairs, Economic Development and Membership. He was the first Chairman of the Workforce Development Committee and still serves on the State and County Workforce Boards. Most recently he served as the Chamber’s Chairman-Elect. He will now assume ongoing responsibilities as Chairman of the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce Board. This past year Bush served as the first Chairman of the Economic Development’s Leadership Council and Chairman of the Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC). He also has served on Senator Emil Jones Task Force on Economic Development for the south suburbs, served two terms as President of Calumet Country Club in Homewood and Chairman of the Southland Country Club Association. Bush is actively involved with many community organizations, participated on college foundations and is actively involved in the golf community. He was born and raised in Harvey and according to Immediate Past Chairman Manny Hoffman, "is a tireless advocate for the revitalization of the south and southwest suburbs." Other Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce elections included the naming of Teri Brenner, Advocate South Suburban Hospital, as its Chairman- Elect and Manny Hoffman, Manny Hoffman Insurance Agency Ltd., who served as the Association’s Chairman for the past year, will now assume the responsibility as Immediate Past Chairman.
