BUSINESS ASSISTANCE


Business Assistance

The Business Assistance division works with staff to provide regular seminars and workshops that assist members in running their business. Throughout the year the Chamber sponsors ongoing programs of business education for the entire membership. Seminars, roundtables, and forums are offered in the areas of Human Resources, Cultural/Workplace Diversity, Small Business, Marketing, Executive Leadership and Technology.

The Business Assistance Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce headquarters.

Goal: Provide quality programming to assist and educate the Chicago Southland Chamber Membership.

Objectives:

  • Conduct ten Business Assistance programs through the following committees:
    • Human Resources Committee
    • Health  Care Committee
    • Business Programs Committee
    • Diversity Committee
       
  • Select a recipient for the Small Business Person of the Year and the Business Achievement Award for presentation at the Chamber's Annual Awards Luncheon.
     
  • Establish and promote a Chicago Southland Business Speakers Bureau.
     
  • Develop a Human Resources Referral Service for Small Businesses.
     
  • Promote and participate in the Illinois Drug Free Workplace program in order to provide free drug testing of employees for eligible member companies.
