The Chamber has a strong tradition of volunteerism; it is the engine that
drives our organization. Below are your Chamber's active councils. Why not
serve on one, or more, to enhance your visibility and address those concerns of
importance to the business community?
Business
Activities (Sid Barsuk, Vice Chairman) -
This division includes planning and implementing the Business Expo,
Holiday Sports Luncheon, Awards Luncheon and Golf Classic.

Business Assistance (Terry LaMastus, Vice
Chairman) - This division provides a variety of business services including
Human Resource Forums, Small Business Programs, Manufacturers Tours and
Business Connections.

Economic Development (Maureen Kelly, Vice
Chairman) - This division includes the areas of Business Recruitment,
Business Expansion and Business Retention.

Education/Workforce Development (Dorothy Foster,
Vice Chairman) This division institutes an effective education and
workforce development program emphasizing business leadership to improve
workforce quality through enhanced education and training. Programs include
Junior Achievement, Principal for a Day and Job Shadowing.

Division
Government Affairs (Jay Farquhar, Vice
Chairman) - This division includes the Annual Illinois State Capitol Visit
and focuses on legislation affecting the business community on federal, state
and regional levels.

Membership Development (William Sandrick, Vice
Chairman) - This division holds two major volunteer membership campaigns,
hosts Business Leader Forums and leads the Chamber's overall member retention
and development program.

Technology (, Vice Chairman) -
This division will enhance the Chamber's website, hold technology seminars
and partner with municipalities to introduce innovations in the Southland.
