Ready or not, 2012 has taken off with gusto.

Incoming Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce Chair John Currier has plunged into his leadership role with nonstop energy.

“Our 2012 tag line, ‘It’s all about business aligns with continuing the Chamber’s priorities into 2012: We advocate for business, offer extreme value to our members and aggressively grow membership,” he said.

Currier will accept the gavel from 2011 Chair Jeff Arseneau at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting on Jan. 26.

The event will take place at the Double Tree by Hilton, 5000 W. 127th St., Alsip. Registration and networking begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.

The program, including the gavel transfer to Currier, installation of Chamber officers and directors and recognition of 2011 Chamber leaders is set to begin at 6 p.m.

The event cost is $50 per person or $500 for a table of 10. Reservations can be made by phone, 708-957-6950 and on the Chamber’s new interactive website, www.chicagosouthland.com.
